A new Big Sleep song. Tony and I had just begun recording this song before the 2020 Corona Virus Lock Down in the UK. I've been able to continue working on it alone...re-assembling our rough demo into something song like.

Big Sleep is the name of the imaginary 'band/group, that all the music I create with my friend and musical collaborator, Tony Webster goes under. Tony is pictured on the right in the photo; me on the left in the dark blue suit. Tony is an artist / illustrator, writer of lyrics and stories, song arranger and a mine of information on any subject under the sun . . . I (David A Briggs) play all the instruments (mostly of the stringed variety), perform all the studio 'jiggery-pokery', sing and dabble a little in the visual arts.

Story behind the song
A new Big Sleep song. Tony and I had just begun recording this song before the 2020 Corona Virus Lock Down in the UK. I've been able to continue working on it alone...re-assembling our rough demo into something song like. The actual song title is..'.Teenage S F Mess' (Watching Late Night Television). Tony wrote all the lyric and I played all the instruments (with useful suggestions by Tony). I've left all our 'studio chatter' in at the beginning and at the end. It's a permanent record of what we did, said and laughed about on that day so long ago now.

Love the style of all the Big Sleep songs, they sound so natural and "live", there is a retro element that feels both nostalgic, yet also contemporary (if that makes any sense) - I suppose it's because the subject matter is timeless. Great production and performances.

Great lyrics and vocals Tony. This one has turned out really nicely.
